A chilling video of the 4th of July parade massacre in Highland Park captured two bursts of rapid fire as onlookers fled in terror from the scene, which left 6 people dead and several others injured.
The recording of 33 seconds, which appears to have been filmed from an apartment window along the parade route in a Chicago suburb begins with the sound of gunshots reverberating for several seconds. Here the images:
After a brief pause, interrupted by shouts, the shooting resumes and they continue for several more seconds, followed by loud wailing.
The video, posted on Twitter by Breaking 4 News, also shows colored folding chairs abandoned on both sides of the street and groups of people running along his safety.
Meanwhile, a lifeguard in a yellow vest runs to the other side toward the apparent danger; an adult picks up a small child and grabs another by the hand before they quickly walk away.
