Cristiano Ronaldo’s future could be close to becoming clear after several weeks of rumors about his possible departure from Manchester United. And it is that the player himself has confirmed that he will play one of the two games that the English team has scheduled for this weekend.
With the phrase “The king plays on Sunday”, Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed through a comment a ‘fan page’ of Instagram, which will play Sunday’s friendly match that United has scheduled against Rayo Vallecano of Spain.
Although this comment does not confirm that the Portuguese star will stay at Old Trafford this season, it does show that at least he has decided to join the squad for the remainder of the preseason, something that seemed unlikely a few days ago.
Earlier this week, ‘CR7’ returned to England to meet with the Manchester United board of directors and coach Erik ten Hag, however, after the end of both matches, it emerged that the player maintained his idea of going to a club where he could play in the Champions League.
Given this, the ‘Red Devils’ also ratified that they would not sell it. It was there when Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent, proposed to the English club that they renew his client’s contract and allow him to go out on loan this year.
The novel continued this Thursday when the newspaper ‘The Athletic’ reported that Mendes would have contacted Sporting Lisbon (where Cristiano Ronaldo began his career) to offer the striker, although it was not indicated if it would be a transfer or loan.
Now, with the recent comment of ‘ El Bicho’ confirming that he will be in Sunday’s game, the hopes of United fans have grown to see their top star leading the new project that seeks to take the club back to live a golden age.
