The human remains found in the backyard of a house in Jamaica (Queens) last summer have finally been identified as those of Gloria Lee, a woman from 54 years missing in Brooklyn, the NYPD reported.

Lee’s case has now been ruled a homicide by the bureau from the city medical examiner, although it is still unclear how he died. An NYPD spokesman said the death was caused by an “undetermined” type of violence.

Lee, a resident of Flatbush, was last seen in May of 2021 and was reported as disappeared to the police in October.

Meanwhile, the 26 in July of that year, outside a house on Pine Grove Street in the Jamaica neighborhood, a passerby called 911 after finding a skull exposed on the sidewalk, police said. Corpse sniffer dogs were called in and found additional human remains behind the house.

The medical examiner recently linked the two cases and confirmed that the remains belonged to Lee. At the moment there are no more details available, according to Gothamist.
