A man was hospitalized in serious condition after being stabbed in the office of a non-profit organization that helps ex-convicts in Long Island City, Queens.
According to police in New York, two individuals got into a fight yesterday at 2 pm inside “The Fortune Society”, an organization whose mission is “to support the successful return after incarceration”.
JoAnne Page, president and director executive of the organization, issued a statement saying they were “horrified” by what happened.
“We have never had an incident like this in my 33 years leading this organization”

“We are still collecting data, but so far we only know that one of our program participants was seriously injured and is now hospitalized. We have never had an incident like this in my 33 years leading this organization. We pride ourselves on providing a safe and welcoming environment and do not tolerate violence of any kind. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement,” Page said.
The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and a suspect has been identified by the NYPD, but his name was not released, reported New York Post. It is not clear the reason for the disputes or whether those involved were workers or visitors to the office located in 29-550 Northern Blvd.
