Will Smith apologized again to Chris Rock for slapping him during the Oscars broadcast 1200 in a new video saying his behavior was “unacceptable” and offered the comedian to discuss the incident whenever he wants.

“I’m here, when you’re ready to talk”

The recording of almost six minutes, which Will shared on YouTube and social profiles, shows the Best Actor for his participation on ‘King Richard’ answering what he says are “a lot of fair questions” he’s faced since he assaulted Chris after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett.

At the time “no I was thinking about how many people were injured,” said Smith, who specifically apologized to the actor’s mother and brother, Tony Rock, with whom he had “a great relationship.”

“This is probably irreparable”, he said specifically about Tony.

Will also stopped to clarify that Jada did not tell him to do something after she rolled her eyes at the joke about alopecia that caused the confrontation and said that disappointing people , including his wife, has always been his worst nightmare.

“I made a decision on my own,” he said. “It really breaks my heart to have stolen and tarnished your moment,” Smith said.

Responding to why he didn’t immediately apologize to Rock during the speech acceptance of him as Best Actor, Smith noted, “At the time I was confused. Everything is confused.” However, he added: “There is not a part of me that thinks that was the correct way to behave, that that is the optimal way to handle a feeling of disrespect or insults.”

Will Smith had previously only issued written statements about the altercation that ended up banning him from future Academy events for a decade.
