The Mega Millions Lottery reported on its website that apart from the winner of the $1,280 million jackpot drawn this Friday, 20 people in different states got $1 million by matching five numbers except the Mega Ball.
The jackpot, the second largest in the history of this lottery game , was won by a person in Illinois.
In the case of the players who matched five of the numbers, two reside in Georgia; two in Florida; two in Texas; two in North Carolina; two in Minnesota; one in Illinois; one in California; one in Kentucky; one in Louisiana; one in Michigan; one in New Hampshire; one in New York; one in Oklahoma; one in Pennsylvania; and one in Wisconsin.
Six other people increased their prize to $2 million after betting on the Megaplier. Three of the winners reside in Florida; one in Pennsylvania; one in Arizona; and one in Iowa.
The winning numbers for Friday’s draw were: 13, 36, 45, 57, 67, and the 14, such as the Mega Ball.
The odds of winning the jackpot of the Mega Millions are 1 in 302 million.
In 29 previous draws no one matched all six numbers for this game of chance which led to the number continuing to grow as more players bought tickets.
The next Mega Millions drawing will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd at 11 pm ET. The prize amount starts at $20 million.
