Pastor Lamor Whitehead’s name became a trend on social networks after a video was released where the popular Brooklyn pastor, as well as his wife, are stripped of their expensive jewelry in the middle of a sermon shortly after of the 11: 00 of the morning at the hands of three men dressed in black.
In the video one of the men appears to put a gun to Whitehead’s back as he picks up the jewelry, reportedly worth between $400,000 and $1 million.
After Whitehead posted a reward of $50,0000 for information leading to the arrest of his assailants, it was revealed that the pastor known for the Instagram videos where he shows off his luxurious cars, as well as brand-name clothing and real estate , is a scammer.
In a lawsuit filed last year in Brooklyn Supreme Court which was published by different media in New York reveals that Whitehead is accused of convincing Pauline Anderson, aged 50 to invest the savings of her life in a company with the promise that it could help her buy a house despite her bad credit history.
According to court documents , the parishioner trusting her pastor’s word gave her a check for $90,000 in November 2020 and trusted him to give her $100 monthly to maintain, but the promise was never fulfilled.
After several months of non-compliance by Whitehead, the victim indicated that at the beginning of 2021 the pastor told him that his investment had been treated as a donation from his then-Brooklyn Borough President campaign, so he would not return a single dollar.
“The mr whitehead fraudulently induced Ms. Anderson to liquidate her life savings to pay him back for the ‘investment’ of $90,000.00, promising to use the funds to purchase and renew a house for her,” the suit alleges. And he adds: “Millisecond. Instead, Anderson was left with nothing more than a vague promise from Mr. Whitehead to return the funds in the future, followed by an affirmation that he had no further obligation to do so.”
The victim preferred not to make a statement about it because her trial is still underway and she does not want to hinder it.
This is not the first time that Pastor Whitehead has been involved in a legal problem, years ago was sentenced to state prison for identity fraud and grand theft.
