This Saturday afternoon, the president of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei, received an attack, from which he was unharmed, according to local media.

The attack on his entourage was carried out when were traveling through a village in the northwestern department of Huehuetenango, reported the EFE news agency.

So far, representatives of the Guatemalan Presidency have not reported on the incident, however, journalists accompanying to the president they explained to EFE that they are fine.

In that place, Giammattei and his Minister of Agriculture, José Ángel López, were participating in an activity to encourage small producers and entrepreneurs.
