The two adults who disappeared on Saturday after a boat they were traveling in sank in southern Puerto Rico drowned and their bodies were found by rescue teams, it was reported this Sunday.

As explained in a video posted on the networks by the commissioner of the Bureau for Emergency Management and Disaster Administration (Nmead), Nino Correa, the first body was found at 00: 00 on Saturday night, while the second was located at dawn today in an underground cave.

“This person (second body recovered) was in an underground cave approximately 25 feet deep inside, where there is an accumulation of sargassum that prevented the body from moving , and the difficulty of the waves did not allow us to make a safe extraction”, indicated Correa.

Divers of the Municipal Office for Management of Em ergencies of Arecibo (north), members of the Urban Search and Rescue Group, together with the Puerto Rico Police and the Municipal Office for Emergency Management of Ponce extracted the second body in Punta Vaquero in Guayanilla (south).

The victims have not yet been identified.

Two other people, including a minor, were rescued after the boat they were traveling in sank between the municipalities of Guayanilla and Yauco, both in the south of the Caribbean island.
