Due to the floods that hit some parts of Kentucky, USA, since last Thursday, trying to survive, a young woman climbed on the roof of one of the houses with her pet.
The act of this 17 year old girl quickly went viral on social networks after the floods caused dozens of deaths and destroyed homes in the locality, as reported by Univisión.
According to the portal TeleDiario of Mexico , the young woman, who lives with her grandfather, was exactly that day with Sandy, a puppy who accompanied her during the distressing moment.
According to this same newspaper, the grandparents were in another house just a few meters away due to heavy rains.
Furthermore, with the weak telephone signal and the saturation of calls to the emergency system of the 911, the young woman preferred to try to leave on their own to survive.
The affected woman and her pet sat for more than five hours on the thin roof until her cousin rescued them with the help of a kayak.
Upon arriving safely at her grandmother’s house, the young woman commented: “my heart goes out to all the other people who they lost and suffered much more than me in this horrible devastation”, according to TeleDiario.
