Goshorn says the main reason for his move is the salary, which is much higher than his teaching job even though they don’t ask for a degree there.

“Think how good our teachers could be if they could just focus on teaching and not have to work a second job on the weekends,” Goshorn said, according to The New York Post.

“I absolutely don’t want this to be about me just trying to discourage anyone from becoming a teacher. That is not the case. I just want my teacher friends to be paid properly.”

Goshorn’s original TikTok post is only six seconds long and in she is shown holding her new Walmart manager’s vest. In the video he added the phrase: “Leave teaching after 6 years to be a manager at Walmart and earn more without using my title.”

Goshorn will work as a warehouse trainer at Walmart and help to ensure delivery trucks are unloaded. He says he will earn $43 thousand dollars per year –before bonuses– at his new job, compared to $ 43 one thousand dollars for his work as a teacher.
