Murray Watt, the minister of agriculture, said that “this it will be the most expensive McDonald’s meal this passenger has ever had, as this fine is double the cost of an airfare to Bali”.

Seized meat products will be tested for foot-and-mouth disease before being destroyed, according to authorities.

This curious case occurs after an Australian woman was fined $2,664 dollars for not declaring a Subway sandwich at the airport after returning from Singapore.
