A video captured the moment when Ukrainian soldiers shoot a Russian drone in the sky using an American-made Stinger missile.

The footage begins with the missile being launched into the sky before it apparently hit the Russian drone, prompting Ukrainian soldiers to shout enthusiastically “Yeees, yeees!”

The footage then cuts and show what appears to be the remains of the Russian drone being recovered by Ukrainian soldiers.

Here are the images of the Stinger missile hitting the Russian drone:

The images were obtained from the 93.Th Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, also known as the 93.ª Kholodnyi Yar Independent Mechanized Brigade, which was accompanied by a brief d statement that read: “Western weapons in action!”

“Today, in the Izyum district, the troops of the 93.Th Kholodnyi Yar Brigade shot down an ‘Orlan-10’ enemy. The fighters of the artillery and anti-aircraft missile division destroyed the enemy UAV from a distance of three kilometers , they fired using a portable American ‘Stinger’ system”.

“We destroyed the enemy on the ground and in the air! We are cleaning the Ukrainian land of the occupants”, they added.

El Orlan -10 is a Russian military drone used for reconnaissance. The Stinger missile system is an American man-portable air defense system. The United States has provided hundreds of Stinger missiles to Ukraine to help the country defend itself against Russian invaders.
