A few days ago, Will Smith apologized to Chris Rock for the slap he gave him at the most recent Oscar Awards, however, the comedian has not the slightest intention of responding to the star of ‘I Am Legend’.
In a recent video that he shared through his social networks and his YouTube channel, Will publicly apologized to Chris for having slapped earlier this year, after a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, of 50 years.
In it, the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ actor stated that he has reached out to Chris, whom he has said is “not ready to talk” yet, and that whenever he wants he will be there to talk .
And although the actor assured that he had been told that Chris would contact him when he was ready, it has now been revealed that the comedian does not intend to do so.
A source has said to Entertainment Tonight: “Chris has no plans to talk to Will she would like nothing more than for him to publicly accept her apologies”.
However, the informant assures that this “is not going to happen now” and suggested that the one who needs the public apology is Will : “He needs the public’s forgiveness, not Chris.”
In the clip, the Hollywood star accepted that his behavior was “unacceptable”, so he hoped he would respond so he could speak. Will also apologized to Chris’s family and his own.
The ‘Men in Black’ actor further commented, “I have contacted Chris and the message that has come to me is that he is not ready to speak. And when he is, he will.”
He also opened up about the incident -which had sparked a backlash against him- saying that there is “no part of [él]” that you think you handled the situation the “right way”.
“I try to be sorry without being ashamed of myself. I made a mistake and I’m trying not to think of myself as a piece of shit “, he also commented.
He finally declared at one point in the recent video that it hurts “psychological and emotionally” knowing that it did not live up to people’s expectations.
