Workers at the warehouse in the Kingsbridge Heights neighborhood in the Bronx (NYC) where a Mega Millions ticket was purchased that was awarded $1 million dollars on Friday, they hope that the winner will return to share their fortune, since according to the New York law store does not receive any sales bonus.

The unidentified person came just short of taking the historical prize of $1.34 $1 billion that resulted from a sale at the “Speedy Café Speedway” gas station in Des Plaines, Illinois, officials said of the lottery.

That business will now receive $500,000 dollars for selling the ticket, according to the laws of Illinois. New York only pays $10,000 a retailers that sell tickets that match the Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot, but there is no such benefit for winners in smaller categories.

Also unlike Illinois, New York requires lottery winners to identify themselves publicly, although they may choose to collect the money through a limited liability corporation.

“Hopefully, this new winner will come along, take care of me and the others,” said Al, a worker at “New Way Deli” in 67 East Kingsbridge Rd, where the million dollar ticket was sold last week.

Al, who refused to share his full name, he told the New York Post that a previous customer there won $1 million in Powerball at 2017 and came back later to to deliver cash to other customers.

“He came back and blessed everyone. He was giving $500 dollars to random customers, $2, 000 to this guy, $5, 000 to that other. He spent about $ 34, 000 just giving people money,” Al recalled. We were the ones who told him that he had won. He was shaking. The guy didn’t believe it. He said: ‘Don’t play with me’. He came back and blessed everyone”.

The numbers drawn on Friday 29 for July in Mega Millions were: 13, 36, 50, 57 Y 67, and the “Mega Ball” 14. Three days before, in the draw of the 13 of July another New York City business also sold a ticket that won $1 million dollars, on Staten Island.

The previous week, a ticket won the jackpot in the LOTTO drawing on 20 of July. It was sold in Yonkers, Westchester County (NY). The owner of the ticket won $000. 9 million dollars.

Last September, a ticket sold at a Midtown Manhattan pizzeria earned $432 million dollars in that same game.
