Amanda Miguel and Ana Victoria, wife and daughter of the Argentine Diego Verdaguer, chose the comedian and actor Omar Chaparro to characterize the late singer with the aim of creating a hologram of him, which will be screened on the tour called ‘I will always love you’.
“The thing is that Amanda said that I have the same complexion as Diego, that she knew him and that we were such good friends, she thought of me to help her make the hologram ”, pointed out Omar Chaparro in an interview with columnist Alex Kaffie.
It should be remembered that Diego Verdaguer died suddenly in January after being infected with Covid-19.
So, As a tribute, those who accompanied him throughout his life on stage planned a tour of the United States and during each presentation they will project a hologram that seems to have the famous singer back.
To crystallize the project decided to throw m Chaparro’s year, who without hesitation joined the challenge of characterizing Diego, but this meant that he moved to Los Angeles, California, accompanied by a Mexican makeup artist who, using facial prosthetics and other resources, helped him achieve the character.
“I characterize myself in Los Angeles and all this was recorded there. So, I just went to the concert to see how it turned out and everything was very emotional”, described the also actor.
A complex challenge
Likewise, Chaparro acknowledged that mastering the facial and body expressions of the Argentine idol was a great challenge for him, but that he was satisfied when observing the final result.

In this way, the Mexican comedian settled part of the moral debt he owed Verdaguer, because after his death he even commented on feeling sad because the Argentine I had searched to propose a project, but they could not agree.
“It hurts me because he was looking for me and for one thing, for another, we did not agree and it hurt my soul to lose him,” said Chaparro after a mass held in memory of the singer a few weeks after his death.
