Pelosi landed in Taipei shortly before eleven o’clock on Tuesday night from of Kuala Lumpur putting an end to a frenzy of speculation, since his visit had not been confirmed despite the fact that the US and Taiwanese media took it for granted.
“The attempts of the United States to hinder the strengthening of China and the fulfillment of the cause of unification will not escape defeat,” the spokesman concluded. of the North Korean Foreign Ministry.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un recently defended the friendship between Pyongyang and Beijing, a relationship he has said is “sealed in blood” and will continue to develop in the future.
Taiwan, with whom the United States does not maintain official relations, is one of the main sources of conflict between Beijing and Washington, above all because Washington is the island’s main supplier of arms and would be its greatest military ally in case of a war with the Asian giant.
