The president of the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol), Alejandro Domínguez, led the presentation event of the so-called “Centennial World Cup”, to honor the first World Cup event, held in Uruguay in 1930.

Alonso recalled “ the emotion and responsibility” with which Uruguay began the dream of this candidacy, to which the other three countries were later added, “for this so beautiful that the world championship is.”

In addition to Alonso, the president of the Paraguayan Football Federation (FPF), Robert Harrison; that of the National Professional Football Association (ANFP) of Chile, Pedro Miland; and the vice president of the Argentine Football Association, Rodolfo D’Onofrio.

In the run-up to the press conference, there was a protocol act at the Football Museum, located on the grounds of the Centenario Stadium, in which the president of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle Pou, was present.
