The attacker of Austin FC, Sebastián Driussi, was chosen this Wednesday as the player of the month for July in Major League Soccer (MLS).
The Argentine won the award, then of the tremendous effectiveness he achieved in recent days, scoring five goals and three assists in the seven games played in July.
With these numbers, Driussi is by far the top attacker in the league with a total of 14 goals. In addition, he is one of the players chosen to play the All-Star next Wednesday 10 in August.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that the Argentine from 26 years is chosen as player of the month in the MLS, because in April he also managed to get the distinction.
In July the gunner scored the goal that gave his team the victory in the game against the Colorado Rapids.
He also gave the decisive pass in the game against the Houston Dynamo and participated, with goals or assists, in the games against Atlanta United, New York Red Bulls, Dallas FC and Sporting Kansas City.
In his second year in MLS, after playing four seasons at Zenit Saint Petersburg, Driussi made a key contribution to Austin’s second position in the Western Conference, behind Los Angeles FC’s Mexican Carlos Vela and Welshman Gareth Bale.
