A new line of cannabis products will feature Dominican David Ortiz, recently inducted into the Cooperstown Hall of Fame.

The Rev Whosale Brands company and the former Major League Baseball star launched ‘Papi Cannabis’, a range of products that will be available at three Rev Clinics, located in Cambridge and Somerville; as well as at major recreational dispensaries in Massachusetts.

The product’s website states that “David has seen firsthand the magic of cannabis for people with chronic pain, and is focused on bringing those benefits to local dispensaries.”

Once I embraced the flow of the flower, everything changed. Cannabis has helped me relax, sleep better, manage stress and heal physically, after a lifetime of playing ball. I look forward to sharing ‘Papi Cannabis’ and my personal journey, to help people understand its benefits.”

How much is the product worth?

The first line of cannabis will be called ‘Sweet Sluggers’. According to the brand, it will have Big Papi’s favorite variety, with names like ‘Black Mamba #7’, ‘Lava Cake #7’, among others.

The product will be available as a single one gram pre-roll blunt, for 18 dollars. This comes packaged in a double tube made from ocean plastic 100% reclaimed; while a pack of three is worth $49 dollars.

“Personally, I prefer pre-rolled blunts, and these are special to me; because I got to work with my daughter, Alexandra, on the colorful packaging design. I love that we were able to incorporate her design, ”concluded the Dominican.

David Ortiz was inducted into the Cooperstown Hall of Fame at the end of July, becoming the fourth native of the Dominican Republic to achieve immortality. In addition, during that week, he received a tribute at Fenway Park by the Boston Red Sox.
