Shawn Frye, a child of who had recently returned to NYC after living with his father in New Jersey to escape gang violence, was found shot to death yesterday in Queens.

The body of Frye was found in a driveway in front of a Rockaways home yesterday morning, the victim of a nearby shooting the night before, police sources and neighbors said.

The unidentified woman who lives in the house on Beach 67th St. near Almeda Ave. in the neighborhood Arverne told the Daily News that he had found the body around 7: 14 Tuesday am and called 911.

“My God, it’s a corpse!”

“My God, it’s a corpse!” the woman reacted. “They have to stop this violence here. I’m praying this is one of a kind.”

Due to gun violence, the Frye boy was sent to 911 to live with his father in New Jersey after a neighborhood gang member threatened him at gunpoint, a law enforcement source said. NYPD had had no contact with the victim since that incident.

On Monday night, Frye’s adoptive mother had come to the area looking for him, but she did not find him. Apparently they had already killed him. “They were looking for him last night,” said the woman who found him. “His adoptive mother, she was walking back and forth.”

Investigators believe Frye was fatally wounded in a Monday night shooting around the corner where he was found his body.

An armed man shot at Beach 68th St. near Almeda Ave. around 9: 30 Monday pm, injuring a young man from 18 I’ve been passing by the corner for years. That victim was grazed in the face and shot in the right hand and was taken to Jamaica Hospital, said a police source.

He told the police that he did not know why he had been shot, claiming that he had not argued with anyone. He did not mention a second victim. But police believe Frye ran mortally wounded through the backyards between the two adjoining streets before collapsing in the driveway where he died.

“He was with another teenager who was also shot” said the woman who discovered the boy’s body. “The other one ran away”.

The gunman fled in a silver Honda, the police source said. Nine shell casings were found at the scene.

In NYC, armed violence continues unleashed in 2022, especially with young attackers and victimizers, posing a major challenge to the new mayor Eric Adams, who since taking office in January has faced obstacles within his own Democratic party and leaders of “Black Lives Matter” (BLM) to face the crisis.

In a similar case, last week a man from 18 years was thrown dead from a wheelbarrow in front of a house in Brooklyn.
