“Mexican-inspired” restaurant chains are among the most popular among Americans. We reviewed which is the favorite Mexican fast food chain in the United States in the last year.
In addition to hamburgers, pizza and fried chicken, tacos are one of the most popular foods in the large American fast food chains.
According to a YouGov survey of 2019, Mexican food was ranked as the second food most popular in the country. Top Agency points out that since the beginning of the pandemic the consumption of tacos increased by 12.8%.
The TOP Data study shows that one in five Americans eats at least one taco per day. While the 23 % of Americans do not eat tacos, the 42% eat between four and 12 tacos a month, and 5% enjoy 64 or more per month.
Favorite Mexican fast food chain in the United States
Chipotle Mexican Grill is the most popular Mexican fast food chain in the United States. Being number one in: Alabama, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Vermont.
Taco Bell is the second favorite taco chain in the most states in the country, including Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Oregon and South Dakota.
Qdoba Mexican Eats ranks third as the favorite Mexican fast food chain. It is number one in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Minnesota, South Carolina and Virginia.
Taco John’s is the favorite chain in New York
In New York, the favorite taco chain is Taco John’s, followed by Moe’s Southwest Grill and Chipotle Mexican Grill, while Qdoba Mexican Eats is fourth favorite and Del Taco is fifth.
TOP Data used a combination of GPS tracking data on the largest taco restaurant chains and a survey of 1,000 Americans.
American “Mexican-inspired” restaurant chains such as Taco Bell and Chipotle have been so successful that they have managed to expand outside the country.
Chipotle, the favorite chain according to the data of the study, had 3000 restaurants as of 30 June 2022 in the U.S. The company, which also has restaurants in Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, claims that it is the only restaurant company of its size that owns and operates all of its restaurants.
