A tourist of 50 years old, a resident of the state of Pennsylvania, drowned on Wednesday on a beach in Hatillo, a municipality on the north coast of Puerto Rico, reported this Thursday the Local police.

The victim was identified by his wife as Erick Rodríguez Agront, a resident of the city of Bonniefield, detailed the authorities.

It was through the Emergencies 9-1-1 that a citizen reported about a drowned person on Sardinera beach, in the Punta Maracayo Camping area, in the Carrizales neighborhood in Hatillo.

When the Police arrived, the citizens explained that a man was asking for help, so the agents managed to rescue him and gave him first aid, but he no longer had vital signs.

Agent Ricardo Umaña, from the Homicide Division of the Arecibo Criminal Investigation Corps, went to the scene and took charge of the investigation together with the prosecutor Ramon W. Ayende Sanchez , who ordered the removal of the body.
