Britney Spears gained control of her multi-million dollar fortune and various aspects of her life when in 2021 a judge put an end to a guardianship governed by her family for almost 13 years, but despite having received several lucrative offers, he believes that his story goes “beyond” an interview.
Through a video published on his YouTube channel -which he later withdrew-, the pop star of 28 years old stated that selling her story to the famous presenter Oprah Winfrey or to any other medium would have been in “bad taste”.
In the clip, the interpreter can be heard of ‘Toxic’ say: “I really don’t think any of that is relevant. Being paid to tell your story seems silly to me. I have offers to do interviews with Oprah and lots of people offering me lots and lots of money, but it’s crazy. I don’t want any of that for myself, it goes beyond a formal interview“.
In 2008, Britney was subjected to a settlement after suffering a series of personal problems and, although she is still “embarrassed” by the situation, she feels more “safe” these days when it comes to sharing her story. “I’ve always been scared of the trial and definitely the embarrassment of the whole thing. Skepticism and cynical people and their opinions of what others would really think. Now I am in a place where I have a little more confidence to openly share what I think and what I have experienced“, he declared.
The singer also asserted that the guardianship was “premeditated”, Well, a woman introduced the idea to her father, although she did not reveal her identity. In addition, he warned that he has not told the world “not even half” of his story.
“There were more than 200 paparazzi outside my house recording me through the window of an ambulance. Now I know it was all premeditated. A woman presented my father with the idea [of guardianship], and my mother helped him carry it out and make it a reality. Everything was basically prepared. There were no drugs in my system, no alcohol, no nothing. It was pure abuse. And I really haven’t said the half of it.”
Speaking of the years in which she worked under the supervision of her father, the interpreter of ‘Circus’ stated that she felt like “a robot under the direct control of her father” and that he even made her feel ” like nothing”, despite being considered “a superstar”.
“I started working immediately. I had to do what they told me. They told me I was fat every day. I had to go to the gym… I don’t remember feeling so demoralized. They made me feel like I was nothing. And I humored them because I was scared. I was scared and afraid. I didn’t even do anything really, and I had like a SWAT team [show up] – none of it made sense to me.”
