An OnlyFans model accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend with a kitchen knife in her luxury apartment in Miami, Florida, was denied bail and will have to return to jail in Miami County- Dade, according to court records.
Courtney Clenney, aged 26, appeared in a Miami court on Saturday for the morning after he was charged with second-degree murder following the death of Christian Obumseli, aged 27, on April 3.
Frank Prieto, Clenney’s attorney, said there was not enough evidence to support the murder charge and that the woman should be released on bail pending trial, according to WPLG.
“In the best of cases, it is involuntary manslaughter,” Prieto told Judge Jacqueline Woodward, who rejected the request and sent Clenney back to the Miami-Dade Jail, awaiting his next appearance in court.
“Ms. Clenney, your attorneys are here and they are fighting hard for you, but right now I’m not really the judge who should be making these decisions,” Woodward said. “It should be a judge who knows a little more about his case.”
The arrest of Clenney, who was known on social media as “Courtney Tailor” and has more than 2 million followers on Instagram, took place on August 10 in Hawaii, where according to his attorney, he was seeking treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and substance abuse .
The lawyer argued that his client acted in self-defense after her boyfriend Obumseli attacked her. However, prosecutors pointed out that forensic evidence contradicts his claim.
