A man was arrested after going up to the building of the famous newspaper The New York Times and putting a small knife to his throat saying that he was going to take life.
Darrow Erikksan, of 31 years, climbed about 50 feet up the facade in the form of stairs from the headquarters of the largest US newspaper located on W. 40 St. and Eighth Ave, in front of the bustling Port Authority bus station in Manhattan, last night around 7: pm, reported Daily News.
Erikksan got a cuchi He hit his throat and threatened to hurt himself, according to police. Responding officers were able to safely lower him to the street, where he was arrested.
He was charged with reckless endangerment, trespassing and criminal possession of a weapon, police said. He was also taken to Bellevue Hospital for a psychological evaluation.
