The governments of the United States and Mexico began distributing posters this Tuesday with the portraits of five people wanted for crimes related to drug and human smuggling across the border.

The posters are part of the “Information Wanted” initiative, in which authorities from the two countries cooperate “to promote unity and encourage the public to provide information anonymously,” said Troy Miller, director of the Office of Customs and Border Protection (CBP)

In Mexico in a similar way in the streets of various cities.

The posters do not indicate the names of the people wanted -apparently four men and one woman-, and CBP told Efe that “this is all the information we will give about the individuals s”.

“Every day, on the ground, the Border Patrol finds vulnerable families and children who have been lied to by human smugglers,” said Border Patrol Chief Raúl Ortiz .

“This is a call to action to continue the battle against these illicit networks that plague regions known to the traffic in our communities and that they are responsible for too many deaths,” he added.

The posters, with a red background and photographs of the suspects, include contact telephone numbers and email addresses and links of WhatsApp, and notify the eventual informant that “his identity is not required”.
