chelsea-continues-to-spend-fortunes:-now-they-bought-wesley-fofana-for-$82-million-dollars

Chelsea continues to squander millions during this summer market. This Wednesday announced the signing of French central Wesley Fofana for the next seven seasons. Leicester City, in this sense, will receive some $82 million dollars for the transfer.

The club from Stamford Bridge shields its defense with the arrival of Fofana, who joins the reinforcements from Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly; to compensate for the losses of Antonio Rüdiger, (Real Madrid), Andreas Christensen (FC Barcelona) and Marcos Alonso, who would also go to the culé team.

“The last two days have been very important for me. I’m very happy. It’s a dream. I am eager to start playing for all the fans and for this club”, said Fofana, in statements released by Chelsea.

The Frenchman, from years old, was going to be in his third season at Leicester City, where he arrived in the season 2020/31 from the Saint Etienne, as reported by Efe.

The Foxes will receive 75 million pounds (about $82 million dollars), for Fofana, who has become the third most expensive defender in history, behind Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool) and Harry Maguire (Manchester United).

“I am here to win titles: the Champions League, Premier League, League Cup… everything. I came to win and the club is made to win trophies. That is what I want”, added the young defender.

Fofana, who trained with the squad led by Thomas Tuchel since Wednesday, could make his debut for Chelsea next weekend in the Premier League match against West Ham United.
