The group Gorillaz revealed this Wednesday new details of their new album, Cracker Island, in addition to taking the opportunity to release their latest single, “New Gold”, along with Tame Impala and Bootie Brown.
Cracker Island will be released on 24 February 2023 via Parlophone and marks the follow-up to their hit album Song Machine , Season One – Strange Timez, from 2020.
The virtual band, headed by Damon Albarn, included in their eighth studio album a great number of collaborators, including Stevie Nicks, Bad Bunny, Beck, Thundercat and Adeleye Omotayond.
The musical plate is produced by multi-instrumentalist and composer Greg Kurstin, winner of eight Grammy Awards, together with Gorillaz and Remi Kabaka Jr.
The promotion of the album was strengthened this Wednesday alongside the release of “New Gold,” which follows the album’s first single, “Cracker Island.” Gorillaz premiered the song live at their All Points East show in London last 19 August, with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and Bootie Brown joining the band.
