Ysenni Gómez, an alleged sex trafficker recently arrested in New York, may have preyed on hundreds of women over the course of a decade, authorities said yesterday, calling on anyone who has been a victim to come forward.
Gómez (39) was arrested earlier this month on sex trafficking charges in the Bronx and Westchester, the FBI said in a news release, detailing a joint operation with local law enforcement agencies. He allegedly targeted recently arrived Spanish-speaking immigrant women to force them into prostitution.
The suspect Gomez posted an ad online claiming to be hiring to a waitress to work in a Manhattan restaurant. He then interviewed a woman who responded and told him that she had gotten the job, according to authorities.
But when the victim showed up on her first day of work, Gómez allegedly forced her to have sex with men by threatening to call federal authorities to deport her if she refused, according to authorities.
During their investigation, agents discovered more than 1,600 online ads associated with Gomez that allegedly promoted prostitution. With an age of 10 years, the ads appeared on Facebook , as well as on adult rated sites.
De Gómez has also been known to use aliases such as Carolina and Ysenni Peguero. She may have used the trade name “Chicas Express” in the ads she allegedly placed, investigators said.
Believing that hundreds of women may have been involved all those years, investigators are asking anyone who may have been a victim or has information to contact the FBI at 1-800- CALL-FBI, regardless of immigration status.
