Prime Video brought to Mexico the exclusive premiere of the series “The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power”, in this visit the protagonists of this story made an appearance, with whom we were able to enjoy the first two chapters of this magnificent production.
Our eyes saw the awakening of Middle Earth. We also meet well-known and endearing characters in their full youth: Galadriel and Elrond grew up before our eyes. We also saw an old enemy and his allies, Sauron and his orcs.
In the midst of all this reunion we also come across wonders not seen, only mentioned and recounted in the first films of The Lord of the Rings by Peter Jackson. And it is that in the first two chapters the fans will be able to see in its complete and total glory the kingdom of Moira, great mines built by the dwarves in the world of Tolkien.
For its premiere we spoke with Patrick McKay, producer of “The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power” with Prime Video, who told us that the most important thing about this project was to respect history and vision of the creator of this world, JRR Tolkien. Another important point is that at the end of the day, the series is not born with the intention of competing with the work that Peter Jackson did with the first three films. This allows you to enter the world of The Lord of the Rings whether or not you have seen the films that devastated the box office in the world of cinema and if you never read the books, this one also presents you with the ideal opportunity to do so, if that is how you intend to know or have a notion of what this whole story is about in essence.
Endearing characters also appear in the firmament of The Rings of Power. The world of the Hobbits emerges in this awakening of Middle-earth by Patrick McKay, where we will meet little Nori, someone to whom we must pay close attention due to the possible impact it will have on the fate of her people and other characters that in the future they could be relevant to the fellowship of Frodo’s ring.
The actors who are part of this great project are not only excited by the reception that this work may have, but also because they received the called and they got the role that will probably mark the career of many of them. Some like Ismael Cruz Córdova, originally from Puerto Rico, will give a lot to talk about, since he is one of the first elves that does not present an image like the one we saw represented by Legolas -Orlando Bloom-: blond with white skin and light eyes. .
Ismael, as everyone on the set calls him, confessed to us that before receiving the call announcing that the role was his, he had already had a series of pure rejections. The life of the actor is built on the basis of many negatives, with the longing for acceptance. Talking with Patrick McKay and remembering what Ismael said, we understand that the production took pains to find people who were really born to give life to the characters that we will see appear here for the first time, as is the case of the Puerto Rican, who plays Arondir. Seeing him in Middle-earth we understand that he is indeed a full-fledged elf, and yes… in this story the elves will live alongside men, not necessarily mixed, because they are there to watch over the possible rebirth of Sauron.
Like Ismael, there is undoubtedly Sophia Nomvete, a “queen” in this entire project. She is a princess in the kingdom of Moira, her fictional name is Disa, wife of Prince Durin IV, son of the King of the Dwarves, close friend of Elrond, prince and future King of the Elves. The actress is happy and grateful to be part of this series, since she not only recognizes the success of the past, but also the important opportunity they have in their hands, so that old fans take up the story again and that new ones are also formed with them. .
Personally, as a fan of Jackson’s tapes and a reader of Tolkien, I can say that this production not only deserves to be seen, but also to be applauded. Because although it is true Patrick McKay has respected everything we know and have seen of this plot to date, so is the fact that there is a very well-told story here, one that deserves to be seen and that under no circumstances is it competing with what that has been done until today, is by itself a new story that presents the basis of what we all saw in the narrative of Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin who together formed the fellowship of the ring led by Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli.
