A man in Georgia was sentenced to 17 and a half years for supporting a minor 13 years held captive in her home, sexually abusing her and recording the attacks.
This week’s Crime Online report indicates that Derrick Hunt, of 39 years, he hid the minor in his apartment in 2012 for three weeks, during which time he recorded the abuse.
According to the prosecutors of the Northern District of Georgia, Hunt saw a publication of the young woman on Facebook on June 18 of that year in which she indicated that she wanted to flee of his house.
Although he knew that the girl was a minor, he picked her up at her home and took her to his apartment, where he gave her alcohol, marijuana and opioids.
“For the next few weeks, Hunt engaged in multiple sexual acts with the minor, on several occasions when she was affected by alcohol or drugs, ”said the Department nt of Federal Justice in a statement. “All the sexual acts occurred in the living room of Hunt’s house where he placed a camera to record the sexual acts with the minor,” the authorities indicated.
On July 7, 2012, Hunt agreed with the father of the minor that he would pick her up at a restaurant without imagining that the man had contacted the Police to arrest him.
Although after being accused of sexual abuse of minors, he was released on bail, the offender fled the state.
Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations investigating accusations against him for child production in coordination with the Northern District Office of Georgia issued an arrest warrant. The man was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 30 2019.
Hunt pleaded guilty to producing child pornography last May.
