starbucks-launches-its-first-vegan-drink-of-the-fall

This year, vegans have been included in Starbucks’ fall celebration. The coffee chain is launching its first vegan drink of the fall, a dairy-free drink.

Every year, from 2000, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is the Starbucks beverage that traditionally marks the beginning of fall. However, the pumpkin drink contains dairy ingredients, the formula has not been renewed. Instead, as a fall option for vegans, Starbucks is introducing Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato in its US and Canadian stores.

The oat milk macchiato uses the base of Blonde Espresso, combines flavors of apple, cinnamon and brown sugar; the drink is topped with a drizzle of spiced apple. Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato can be ordered hot, cold or blended.

“Layered flavors of apple, cinnamon, oatmeal and brown sugar blend in harmony with Starbucks Blonde Espresso, creamy oat milk and spiced apple drizzle to create a delicious crisp apple that you can savor. A nostalgic fall pick-me-up,” shares Starbucks.

Last year, Starbucks introduced a dairy-based Apple Crisp Macchiato for its fall menu. The drink was inspired by apple cider donuts, apple pies, apple crisps, and apple maple syrup.

“As you know, Apple Crisp Macchiato was first introduced once last year and returns this year with oat milk and Starbucks Blonde Espresso as the standard recipe,” a Starbucks spokesperson told VegNews.

While Starbucks acknowledges that interest in vegan dairy products is growing and ensures that you listen to customers and partners to meet their unique tastes and preferences, for vegans this is not reflected in the extra costs for substitutions of plant-based milk instead of dairy milk cow.

Additional charges for choosing non-dairy milk have sparked protests against Starbucks. Last May, actor James Cromwell, star of “Babe”, demonstrated by sticking his hand to the counter of Starbucks in Manhattan.

PETA decided to give Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz the ‘Climate CatasTROPHY’ trophy for charging extra to customers who choose vegan milk while claiming to care about the environment, which the organization considers a hoax.

“Starbucks’ continued markup on vegan milks, while you acknowledge that cow’s milk is the main reason the company’s carbon footprint is so large, has earned you a Climate Catas trophy from PETA,” he says. organization to Schultz.
