An elderly woman aged 78 with a cane who requested an Access-A-Ride vehicle ended thrown on the asphalt by the driver, in a cruel scene captured on video in Brooklyn (NYC).
The victim ended up hospitalized after the driver forcibly removed her from her car, in the middle of of an argument, according to video recorded yesterday afternoon at Marine Park, Flatbush.
Police say the woman had requested the vehicle to take her to her physical therapy appointment. But at the end of the journey the driver drove past the stop and refused to stop. They then began to argue and he ended up dragging the victim out of the vehicle while she hit him with her cane lying on the asphalt. At that moment when the video begins.
NYPD added that a good samaritan of 35 years tried to intervene and realized that the driver had taken the victim’s cell phone. The man was able to recover it, but at that moment the driver fled in his vehicle and hit him.
Both the good Samaritan and the old woman were taken to the hospital in stable condition. While the driver has not been identified, highlighted ABC News.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) said that the entity “is aware of the incident and working with the New York police in its investigation” .
