FC Barcelona has made official this Thursday the transfer of the North American Sergiño Dest to AC Milan for the next season, in an operation in which a purchase option is also established.
Although the Barcelona has not made public the amounts of the operation, the purchase option would be around $20 million dollars. Dest joined Barcelona from Ajax Amsterdam for 20 million euros, plus bonuses, in October 2020.
The American winger, who did not count for Xavi Hernández, has played 72 games with Barcelona in these two seasons, but he has been below the expectations created.
He initially acted as a right-back, but also played on the left and also as a midfielder. In total, Dest has scored three goals and provided four assists in that time.
Dest’s departure is Barcelona’s second on this last day of market closing, after the disassociation of Martin Braithwaite, who has a foot and a half at Espanyol.
