kanye-west-accuses-gap-of-plagiarizing-his-designs

How short Kanye West’s love affair with GAP has lasted. The rapper was emerging as the savior of the company, which has not stopped accumulating losses in the last couple of years and hoped to regain his old popularity through the collaboration agreement they signed for ten years.

Of course, at first glance it seemed like the perfect partnership because the musician had worked in one of the GAP stores in Chicago when he was 15 years old and his first collection was a huge success, attracting a public that until then had not been able to afford the prices of Yeezy clothes.

However, now problems have arisen in paradise. Kanye has just accused the brand of copying the ideas he included in Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga: a limited collection conceived by the artist and the luxury house’s creative director, Demna Gvasalia, which went on sale online in February. and in May under the umbrella of GAP.

To echo his complaints, he has used his favorite platform, Instagram, where he has given as an example a blue t-shirt with the company logo that one of his followers sent him by private message to ask him if he was aware of how much it resembled those designed by himself. The answer is yes, and he doesn’t like it at all.

The rapper also added that the company canceled a photo shoot with his four children that was scheduled to take place in Japan without him he knew it.

The straw that broke the camel’s back for him has been learning that business meetings are being held without informing him beforehand, something that he apparently does not consider acceptable, so now he is planning to buy “land or buildings” to open for the first time a store dedicated exclusively to selling their creations.

“I signed with both Adidas and Gap because it was established by contract that they would build permanent stores, which neither of the two companies has done despite the fact that I saved both at the same time,” he announced this Thursday.
