The most notorious and combative ex-husband of Britney Spears, the dancer Kevin Federline, has returned to the fray with an interview in which, once again, he focuses on the relationship so cold and problematic that the two children of the ex-partner, teenagers Sean Preston (15) and Jayden James (15), keep up with the princess of pop.
In her opinion, the interpreter has been very little involved in her children’s day-to-day life since, last November, she got rid of that oppressive legal guardianship to which she was subjected during 13 years. One of the effects of this dubious protection mechanism was that Federline did not share custody of her offspring directly with Britney, but with the artist’s relatives, the same ones she now accuses of having betrayed her instead of looking after her well-being. .
Regardless of the origin of these setbacks, Federline wanted to make it clear in his conversation with the program ’60 Minutes’ that he stands as the great paternal referent of the two boys, who would avoid spending time with their mother as much as possible due to the emotional distance that separates them and, also, due to the “shame” they would feel seeing their mother, of 40 years, posting certain content on their social networks, such as nudity and highly suggestive dance moves. “Several months have passed since they last saw each other,” he revealed.
When asked about the role he could have played, in favor of his former wife, during that extensive period in that Britney was legally unable to make relevant decisions, the controversial artist has stressed that he could not be involved in any way when designing or negotiating the guardianship provisions. Federline assures that he had to stay out of all this for the good of his boys, but he has not explained exactly why: “I couldn’t get involved. The boys are the only thing I could worry about back then”, reads an excerpt from his talk.
