A Maryland man won a $325 thousand dollar lottery jackpot using a set of numbers he copied from a friend’s home address.
Upper Marlboro City man, 57 years old, told Lottery officials from Maryland that he and a friend had been walking days before, so he knew the house number of his acquaintance, which was 10911.
“I knew I had to play those numbers,” said the player, according to the UPI information portal.
The man bought six $1 dollar tickets and one $0.50 cent ticket for the drawing Pick 5 from August 27, using the numbers 1-0-9-1-1.
“I checked the numbers on my phone and said, ‘Wait a minute,’ when I saw that I matched the number. I was surprised that it actually came out,” he said.
The man won a total of $325 thousand dollars, but his prize was reduced to $ 275 thousand dollars by giving you one of your $50 thousand dollar tickets your friend.
“I thought it was a joke at first. And then, he gave me one of the tickets to cash in on myself,” the friend said.
Winners said their plans for their prizes include paying bills, taking vacations, and saving the rest of the money .
