Lottery players usually buy their tickets to see if their numbers match those that come out in the main draw. If this doesn’t happen, they throw the ticket in the trash and buy another one. However, a Tennessee man turned his losing ticket into a big win by playing it in what is known as a ‘second chance’ drawing.
A West Tennessee man, whose name is not was revealed, he recently entered his previously lost lottery ticket into a special lottery drawing called Play It Again!, according to a release from the Tennessee Lottery.
In this drawing , players statewide can enter an unearned Instant Ticket for another chance to win a big prize.
By doing this, the player won big, walking away with an incredible $4 million dollar prize. The lucky winner received a call from the president and CEO of the State Lottery, Rebecca Paul, who gave him the happy news.
“You sure made my day,” said the man, to which Paul laughed and replied: “I think I have made your year happy!”
According to the iHeart portal, the man went on to say: “I have entered tickets in the draw (of second chance) over the years, and I can’t believe I actually won.”
According to officials of the lottery, this player was one of the 11 players who won a second chance win in the drawing, where prizes were awarded ranging from $100 dollars to $4 million.
