A total of 000 alligators, 874 ammunition of various calibers and 4 rifles, among other pieces linked to drug trafficking, were seized in an abandoned residence in Manatí, a municipality in the north of Puerto Rico.
The reptiles, as well as several chargers, controlled substances and two bulletproof vests were found on the night of Thursday in the Cerro Gandía sector of the aforementioned city, detailed the local authorities this Friday in a statement.
The animals and the rest of the objects were taken care of while the Police were looking for a missing young man, identified as Josbriel Manuel Rivera Maldonado, aged 28 years old.
When the agents arrived at the Cerro Gandía sector and where they were looking for Rivera Maldonado, they entered an abandoned residence, where they found the alligators and the rest of the objects linked to drug trafficking.
At the moment no one has been arrested, while Personnel from the Department of Natural Resources took charge of the caimans.
Sergeant Ángel Núñez López, from the Homicide Division of the Vega Baja Area, is in charge of the search for the missing young man.
The Commissioner of the Puerto Rico Police, Antonio López Figueroa; The Assistant Commissioner for Criminal Investigations, Colonel Roberto Rivera Miranda, and the Mayor of Manatí, José A. Sánchez González, indicated that this investigation is continuing.
