barcelona-coach-spoke-about-gerard-pique's-personal-situation:-“if-we-have-to-help-him,-here-we-are”

Xavi Hernández, coach of FC Barcelona referred to the current situation of Gerard Piqué, letting it be known that, despite all the negative things he is experiencing in his personal life and the harassment of some of the media, this has not affected his sports career.

The Barça coach stated that Piqué is “calm” and that this week he has trained “very well”. In this sense, he clarified that despite not having played any game this season, he will be of great help in achieving the team’s objectives

“He will help us. I don’t mind any of the players I have. We have to be a family, join and row in the same direction. As for his personal life, I want him to be happy to play and if we have to help him from the club, here we are”, he stressed.

Regarding the lack of minutes, Xavi stated that “the decision is technical. In the end it’s up to me and I have to make decisions. When Piqué plays, you will ask me why Araujo or Koundé don’t play. He has spent his whole life. I understand that with Piqué and Jordi there is a debate, but they are helping a lot. His commitment is impeccable. There will not be any problem”.

Xavi happy with him closing of the transfer market

On the other hand, the culé coach indicated that he feels “liberated” after the closing of the transfer market in which his team was quite busy both in additions and departures, so he believes that “it could be a great year” because the team is “very eager”.

“I feel liberated, both for the outputs as well as inputs. We have made a spectacular effort, we are happy and satisfied with where we were and where we are, because we have a squad to compete for everything. Now we have to prove it on the pitch”, he pointed out.

Likewise, the legendary former player and now DT, wanted to clarify the situation of another of the veterans such as Jordi Alba, who is believed to lose more prominence with the arrivals of Héctor Bellerín and Marcos Alonso at the close of the transfer market.

“ I want Alba here, as captain, and because of the affinity I have with him. He is a leader and he is going to help us, whether he plays or not. At no time did I think that he was going to leave, “he sentenced.
