Four people were shot, including one in the head, when a gunman fired from a car last night at the base of operations of an illegal motorcycle club in Brooklyn (NYC), police sources and witnesses said.
The shooting sparked a tense half-hour standoff with police when members of the club, the “Unknown Bikers,” refused to allow detectives into their headquarters, reported Daily News .
The victims were outside the clubhouse on Russell St. off Meserole Ave. in an industrial section of the Greenpoint neighborhood last night around 8: 35 pm when a white sedan drove by the block, witnesses told investigators.
Someone inside the car pulled out a shotgun and started shooting, reaching the four victims. The motive for the attack has not been identified. “I heard the shots,” said a neighbor who did not want to be identified. “When I got here, two of the motorcyclists were in the ambulance. They were being treated for being shot in the arms”.
The victims, all men aged between 24 and the 41 years, were shot in the arms and back. One was hit in the head, the New York police said. Three of the victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital and the other to Bellevue Hospital, all in stable condition.
