A woman in Houston, Texas, led a fraud in which she stole $2.6 million from men she met on social media.
The Rhode Island District Attorney’s Office reported Thursday that Dominique Golden, 31, seduced victims with false promises of love to receive money from them in cash, through checks, money orders and bank transfers.
The suspect used the money to buy two luxury cars, a Bentley Bentayga from 2017 and a Mercedes E-Class from 31, in addition to three Rolex watches.
When declaring guilty this week, Golden agreed to hand over the lavish possessions along with a 12 inch gold chain and a 24, as well as three pistols.
In addition, he was required to hand over more than $11,000 from his home in Houston.
Golden and other cronies dedicated themselves to cultivating relationships with the victims. scams and gain their trust through internet applications to the point of convincing them to send them money.
The woman opened several post office boxes and bank accounts under false names and businesses to receive the funds.
