will-smith-makes-his-official-return-to-work-after-the-2022-oscars-scandal

Will Smith has returned to work. More than five months after slapping Chris Rock at the last Oscars, the 53 year-old actor was seen filming the Disney+ series, ‘Welcome to Earth’, in Alausí, Ecuador.

Wearing a baseball cap and a yellow shirt, the actor surprised the locals when they saw him filming on the Devil’s Nose, a historic road in the country.

Among the shots of the second season of the National Geographic series, which Smith also narrates, the protagonist of ‘King Richard’ was seen blowing kisses to the assembled fans.

In July, four months after the already famous slap in the face that the star of ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ gave the comedian, Smith broke his silence in a very personal video in which he apologized to Rock and the comedian’s family.

He also said that he had contacted the presenter, but “the message he received” was that he was not ready to speak lar and that he would when he was.

“Chris has no plans to contact Will,” a source told Entertainment Tonight, who in turn believes the timing of the apology is more for Will’s interest. “He needs the public’s forgiveness, not Chris’s.”

The following month, another source told the same outlet that the actor “feels much more confident and much more positive and less depressed” after posting his apology video.

“I was in very low spirits before making his public apology. Now he feels less embarrassed and more comfortable going out in public again because he has done and continues to do the work that needs to be done for himself, for his wife, for his family, for his friends, for his colleagues, for his fans, for The Academy, for Chris and for Chris’s family,” the source shared.

The insider added that Smith believes it is important to “instill the idea that violence is never the answer and show the public that was wrong and is sorry, but that all people make mistakes and that we are all human, regardless of the career you may have”.
