A wolf briefly escaped from its “habitat” at an Ohio zoo, but was recaptured and no people or staff were injured, authorities said.
Officials at the Ohio Metroparks Zoo Cleveland said the Mexican gray wolf “briefly violated its habitat” around 10: 20 am last Monday, although he recently reported the facts.
Jacqueline Gerling, director of communications for Cleveland Metroparks, said the wolf “was able to access the guest path” for about five minutes.
Gerling added that staff “acted quickly to establish a perimeter around the wolf” and the animal care team secured the animal and reunited it with the other wolves.
