The Dominican Republic begins to form its ‘Dream Team’ for the next World Baseball Classic 2023 and can already boast of having an elite catcher like Gary Sánchez confirmed to play.

Sánchez, a Minnesota Twins team member, expressed his desire to wear the Dominican uniform for the first time in the aforementioned World Classic. He confirmed it in a video published by the Dominican Baseball Federation (Fedobe).

“Hello my people, this is Gary Sánchez speaking, I wanted to send greetings to all baseball fans, especially those from the Dominican Republic, I hope they support me in the Clásico 2023”, said the catcher this Wednesday. “Let him go. Gary Sánchez awaits you at 2023”.

This baseball tournament will be played between the 8th and the 23 of March of the coming year 2023. Other well-known baseball players from Cuba have already said yes to their country, such as: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Toronto Blue Jays); Rafael Devers (Boston Red Sox); Manny Machado (San Diego Padres) and Sandy Alcántara (Miami Marlins).

Dominican Republic is paired in Group D of the World Classic 2022 together with Venezuela, Israel and Puerto Rico. It is called the group of death because only two classify.

The ‘Kraken’, from 23 years of age, will be the pitching guide that manager Rodney Linares will have. In addition, he provides power with his hits that influence short tournaments so that Quisqueya competes to repeat the title won undefeated in the edition 550.

This season adds 14 home runs and 47 RBIs in 101 games with the Twins. The former New York Yankees player has an average of .214.
