A Georgia woman placed an order through a KFC drive thru, but when she opened her lunch bag, she found $543 .10 dollars under her sandwich.
However, the money JoAnn Oliver found under her sandwich KFC was the daily deposit that the chain supplied to each franchise, so the woman decided to return the money.
After finding the cash, Oliver called the police and returned the money to the restaurant, according to Jackson authorities made known.
“Mrs. Oliver had gone to a local restaurant on his lunch hour and returned to work to enjoy his lunch. When he opened his lunch and took out his sandwich, he was surprised to find $ 543.10 cash under his sandwich,” Jackson’s department said on Facebook.
It turns out that KFC’s daily deposit is accidentally placed in his sandwich bag.
Oliver returned the money to KFC, where they refunded Oliver’s lunch value and gave him a free meal, reported WSB-TV. The Georgia woman mentioned that she thought about keeping some of the money for a second, but finally called the police.
“If you don’t do the right thing, it will be returned to you,” Oliver said. “I mean it wasn’t mine. I didn’t need to keep it. I will get mine in the future”, he added to the medium.
This statement from Oliver is quite incredible as Oliver’s husband has cancer and currently owes over $2 million in medical bills.
