Both the White House and Delaware officials reported that they are monitoring a possible arrival of planes of undocumented immigrants that could arrive from Texas or Florida on Tuesday.

“We are aware of the reports and we continue to prepare for the possibility of immigrants arriving in Delaware unannounced,” said Emily Hershman, communications director for Delaware Governor John Carney, speaking to Fox News.

“Our Teams at the (Delaware Emergency Management Agency) and the (Delaware Department of Health and Human Services) are working with community organizations and other partners to make sure immigrants arriving here have the support they need,” Hershman added. .

For her part, Karien Jean-Pierre, secretary of the White House, also acknowledged the reports of the possible arrival of undocumented immigrants in Delaware.

“Yes, we have s received news of the flights. And yes, we are coordinating closely with state officials and local service providers who are prepared to welcome these families in an orderly manner as they process their asylum claims,” Jean-Pierre told reporters.

The local outlet The News Journal said that the governor’s office and community groups were mobilizing towards Georgetown, Delaware, due to the possible arrival of immigrants at the Delaware Coastal Airport.

It is also expected that at least one plane will take off from Texas, and will stop at the Bob Siker airport, in Florida, to later fly to Delaware this Tuesday. It has not been clear if the plane left Texas on Tuesday or if a second plane arrived in Florida on Monday night.

The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, was consulted about the probable shipment of planes to Delaware; however, he has not confirmed this statement.

“I cannot confirm that. I can’t,” DeSantis said, adding that authorities have determined that between one-third and 40% of immigrants crossing the southern border illegally have with the objective of reaching Florida.

Meanwhile, Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, has been the one who promoted the sending of immigrants from the southern border since April.

In figures, Texas has sent at least 8,000 undocumented immigrants to Washington DC and more than 2, 500 immigrants to New York City since August 5, according to the Texas governor’s office.

Last week DeSantis sent 48 undocumented immigrants from Venezuela to the luxurious island of Martha’s Vineyard, in Massachusetts.
