McDonald’s is offering a new limited edition Happy Meal, and this time it’s for adults. It is the Cactus Plant Flea Market Box that has toys, to “tap into a deeply specific nostalgia”, according to the famous hamburger chain.
The box includes a Big Mac or a Chicken McNuggets from 10 pieces, World Famous Fries, a drink, and one of four exclusive collectible figurines.
Redesigned fan favorites Grimace, Hamburglar and Birdie are back, now joined by the exclusive “Cactus Buddy”.
The new Happy Meal has been redesigned with the characteristic style of the Cactus Plant Flea Market along with the iconic golden arches of McDonald’s.
The Cactus Plant Flea Market Box will be available in restaurant, drive-thru, delivery or on the McDonald’s app starting October 3, while supplies last.
Fans of the brand and McDonald’s who purchase Cactus Plant Flea Market Box in the McDonald’s app t will have the opportunity to obtain free exclusive products from Cactus Plant Flea Market x McDonald’s.
Among the special edition products are they find personalized t-shirts, a hoodie and a Grimace chair. The brand’s hoodies can be sold for up to $1,000 in the online marketplace.
The launch of the Cactus line Plant Flea Market x McDonald’s, “further explores the narrative between the two brands, showcasing Cactus Plant Flea Market’s uncanny ability to tap into a deeply specific nostalgia,” shares the fast food chain.
Merchandise will also be available for a limited time exclusively at cpfmmcdonalds.com on October 3 at 11 am
“We’re taking one of McDonald’s most nostalgic experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that it’s very relevant to our adult fans,” said Tariq Hassan, director of marketing for McDonald’s USA. “This is another way we are rekindling a new generation’s love for our food and brand,” added Hassan.
McDonald’s continues the trend of fast food restaurants partnering with clothing brands to launch limited edition collections. Cactus Plant Flea Market is a clothing brand that Kanye West and Pharrell have popularized in recent years.
McDonald’s collaborations with celebrities have been successful in driving sales, as happened with BTS, J Balvin and Travis Scott.
