andres-palacios-is-esteban-lombardo-in-“la-madrastra”,-a-soap-opera-with-which-he-also-seeks-to-raise-awareness-and-open-debate

Andrés Palacios is the protagonist of “La Madrastra” together with Aracely Arámbula. In this drama full of mystery, lies and a lot of pain, the Mexican gives life to Esteban Lombardo, a man who, in addition to being a victim, becomes as much a victimizer as the rest of the cast that makes up the highly respected Lombardo family.

Esteban is a family man who, as a result of the lie they have made him believe, becomes a man full of resentments, hatred, silence, demands. This accumulation of emotions reaches such a degree, that beyond being the one who unites his loved ones with love, he ends up being the one who generates the need for separation.

Believing that the woman he loves is, in addition to murderer, adulteress led him to cool down emotionally and affectively. Facts that led him to validate himself under the simple role of head of the family and provider. The actor talks about Esteban’s ways of being: “These characteristics of men, that we have this conditioning that in order to belong to the family or social group, we always have to be the strong ones, that we don’t ask for help… that we never cry , that we are always fine, even if we are broken inside”.

Between chemistry, physics, biology and anatomy… you judge!

My innocent statement about the chemistry that exists between the characters of Andrés and Aracely prompted us to talk a bit about chemistry, physics, biology and anatomy, thanks to the actor’s response. Palacios’s comment made me laugh so hard that it was impossible for me to resume seriousness.

First I asked about how it has been working with her, to which he replied that everything has been incredible. Then we fell into the theme of low passions: “The low passions as always come to the surface, in any circumstance, situation, whatever… that wins or makes these characters lose,” said Andrés. It was there when I started to talk about the chemistry that we are all seeing on screen.

I was telling him that the videos shared by fans show such chemistry between them that we are all hoping that the low passions will be fire at once, and there I told him that I saw a lot of chemistry between them, but beware that I clarified that I was not trying to imply anything. To my comment, Andrés Palacios reacted as quickly as the “road runner” and he told me: “But also a lot of physics. There’s chemistry, there’s physics, there’s biology… there’s a little bit of everything”, and bang!, just like that I burst out laughing.

“It’s very scholarly, this”, Andrés said later, laughing too. He added: “Anatomy we also drive”, and there I went again to tell him that in fact, we have already seen videos with their anatomies on social networks, because the fans are really delighted with the couple that Palacios and Arámbula are managing to expose in “La Stepmother”.

We got serious later, to talk about the friendship that unites them. And it is that they have known each other for many years: “Genuinely we have known each other for many years and we have always had a fraternal relationship, of great affection and great empathy”. Thus we found out that the actors had been trying to work together for a long time, but none of the proposals ever materialized, until today with the production of Carmen Armendáriz.

Before finishing my conversation with the actor, I wanted to leave him the compliment that many fans repeat on the networks and that is that they say that his gray hair looks very nice, Andrés He appreciates the compliment and assures that he also likes how they look on him.

I intended then, after this, that my last question would captivate his heart to the point that he would tell me something about the end of this story, and it seems that the last chapter of “The Stepmother” is unknown. But Andrés knows as much as I do, since the director, as he confirmed to me, has the end in the middle, so it seems that we are going to discover who the murderer was, almost at the same time as the actors, until the last moment.

Andrés Palacios and the importance of creating social awareness

But in this exclusive interview with Andrés Palacios we come across a man who is not only talented, but also handsome as a heartthrob, but also with someone who seeks, pretends and works because this story reflects the great mistakes and injustices that are committed daily in the legal system of his country, and why not say it, of the world in general.

Amidst laughter, our talk also entered into this reflexive field, because for him it is important not to remain silent about the message that “La Madrastra” also brings with it. Andrés Palacios then talks to us about how the production reflects how many negative aspects of both the roles played by men and women have been normalized and not for the better. Reason why, with their work, from their arena they are trying to send a different message. Above all, because as the actor says, not everything is glamor within his profession, for this reason he is one of those who seeks that from his box the importance of creating social awareness is not forgotten.

“My commitment as actor, it is not only about entertaining, but also about proposing a message, something that opens the conversation and there is a debate about why this or that thing should stop being normalized or why such a cause should be supported”, he concluded.
